At the airport we got them out of their crates and played and introduced ourselves. We put the bottom of one crate.with the wood chips in it, in the back seat along with blankest and towels. The pups played in the back seat for a little time and then decided in our arms was the best place. Only 10 minutes out the the airport and Prema (boy) got in the crate to pee!! The rest of the 7 hour trip was great - we stopped at some rest areas and some places like the back yard of a church and got them out in the grass. The entire trip - no accidents of any kind in the car. As soon as we were back on the freeway they would fall asleep. At home we put the crate in the kitchen along with food and water - I crawled under the kit. table (put a large pad for sleeping there) and got them to settle in with the blankets and towels from the trip. They were asleep in minutes. We expected some crying in the night - NOTHING! Kim and I each got up during the night to go to the bathroom(have to go through the kitchen) and the pups didn't stur. All night and not a sound and no accidents in the floor !!!! Then this morning we opened up the back door that leads out to an area we fenced in (temporary - because in about 2 months the entire yard (one acre) will be fenced. The first thing they did was play in the flowers and then do their business. It looks like you sent us two house broken puppies!! They are so cute - they draw such attention every where we go!! At first we had trouble telling them apart - but now we can see their physical difference and starting to see their personality differences. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Their appetites are great - their energy level is very hight - until their power switch gets turned off and they fall into a big pile of white fur and sleep for about 20 minutes. I believe they will truly be 2 amazing dogs - already they have brough great joy to us!!! I must tell you I am not real good on the computer regarding getting photos sent - we have taken lots of digital pictures already - but I will do my best to get them to you soon. Thanks Again Richard and Kimberly

----- Original Message ----- From:Richard Subject: Re: first night with the pups Angie,I forgot to tell you about the first night and each night so far. They are the best!! As I write you this note it is 7:30 our time and they are already beded down. On their own they get under the kit. table on their large cushion and start sleeping. I come in the kit. and they may lift their heads and look to see what is happening and stay where they are. Every night so far and I expect from now on - they sleep all night long not a peep!! I put in a dog door - no flap yet - and they went through it as soon as the hole was cut in the door. So, no problem for them coming and going. I moved their crate with the wood chips to the "mud" room (in time we will have two doors with doggie doors in them for their complete access to the full acre) and will put the crate outside in a few days. So far one accident and I really think it was my falt. We were wondering what your husband does around the house ?? Does he use power tools?? I was cutting the oppening to the doggie door and using a portable saw. It is very nosie and while I was cutting both dogs were right there with me!! I would have expected any dog to run for cover - they didn't seem to even notice it !! We had a hose with a spray coming out of it lawying on the lawn - Shanti (girl) was the first to play with it- they both got very wet and then ran and rolled in the dirt are of the yard - I didn't get a picture but it was so fun!! We now believe that having two pups is a real advantage - of course they are great dogs thanks to you - and it seems that their transistion is so smoothe and they are so happy that having a litter mate is very good. Thanks Again |
